Instapark™Dual Garage Door Laser Parking Guide System Reviews
I have owned one of these (not sure which model) for about 3 years and it has work great until recently, when the motion sensor started to go bad. Originally, I had the same problem that others have mentioned, the range of adjustment for the lasers being limited by the high shoulders around the joint that holds the lasers in place. I corrected this by using a Dremel tool to remove the high shoulder where I needed to move the lasers. I only had to remove about 1/4 of inch on each outside edge. If you don't have a tool like a Dremel I guess you could use a drill, or even a serrated kitchen knife, with a little patience and care. The lasers can be removed from their sockets with wires attached. I discovered this during installation when I drop everything to the garage floor. When the unit hit the floor both lasers popped out of their sockets. This was before I had removed the shoulders around the sockets. Fortunately no harm resulted from the fall. With just a little pressure the lasers can be popped back in their sockets.br / I'm now ordering a 2nd unit to replace my current one, but I plan on saving the first unit, since the lasers are still as bright as they ever were. If I do lose a laser in the new unit as some have reported they have, I'll just use one of the lasers from the old system.br /

Inconsistent and Dissapointing - Bobaloo - Rockville, MD
The Instapark guide system works roughly 60% of the time. There is nothing consistent about how it decides to operate. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not. There are no variables that contribute to the inconsistency. We simply drive in and it works, or does not. 3 out of 5 times it works as advertised. 2 out of 5 times it does not. The motion detector can key off of either the opening of the garage door, or the automobile being pulled into the garage. I can also activate it walking in the garage. br /br /In addition, as a dual unit, this guide system was difficult to position in a standard garage setup with installed electric boxes for the garage door openers. Given the cord reach, it was difficult to get the unit deep enough to easily provide a laser spot in front of each driver. The right arm fractured with minimal pressure (the extra flex allowed it to hit the spot I needed), and the left arm had no problem hitting the desired position. br /br /This is an inexpensive unit, and operates as such. I would spring for a better unit next time.
an excessive high tech solution - A. Shum -
for my purposes, this really was unnecessary. the speedbump garage mat works a lot better. i am sure some people would find it useful but i just waned something that would tell me when to stop in my garage.
